The opening ceremony of the 61st Library Week, which will be celebrated with the theme of “Productive Libraries” this year, was held with the participation of our Rector Prof. Dr. Mutlu Türkmen, our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Savaş Bülbül and our Secretary General Nazmi Karabulut. We hosted the students and teachers of Bayburt Vocational and Technical Anatolian Vocational High School in our library.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, our Rector Hoca pointed out that libraries are not only places where books are found, but also places that contribute to the development of society and the dissemination of information. It was emphasized that Library Week brings together more participants every year and contributes to the spread of the culture of reading books in society.

The program, which started with the “We Read at the Same Time” event, brought together our Rector Prof. Dr. Mutlu Türkmen with the students in a talk titled “Bayburt University and Productive Libraries”. The program then ended with various gifts being given to the students who borrowed the most books from our Library and used our Library the most in 2024.
