INFORMATION ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Child Development is one of the most thought, researched and interested branches of science in the century we live in. The healthy development and happiness of the child requires the responsibility not only of the family in which he was born and raised, but also of the society.
Today, the importance of pre-school education is being recognized more and more. Families who are conscious about early education are very sensitive about their children getting pre-school education. Especially the fact that women take more part in business life and they have to get support for child care increases the need for pre-school education and therefore child development professionals.
PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAM
The main purpose of the Child Development Program is to train professionals who adopt the importance of child development and education, recognize the developmental characteristics of 0-6 year old children, gain knowledge about their habits and needs, take precautions against the problems that children may encounter, and provide guidance and counseling to families and society in this field.
In addition, the program aims to train technical staff who can recognize children in need of special education, organize a suitable educational environment for these children, and are conscious of maternal health.
MAIN COURSES OF THE PROGRAM
Compulsory Courses: These are the courses determined by YÖK or Higher Education Institutions and which are compulsory for all programs, and the courses that aim to provide basic and common competencies for the department and/or program.
Vocational Courses: These are courses aimed at gaining professional competencies. Vocational courses will be applied by educational institutions by choosing from the lesson plan within the framework of the relevant legislation according to the proficiency table.
Elective Courses: The individual development of the student and increasing the quality of life, sectoral and regional needs, the conditions of the educational institution and the acquisition of additional competencies that will contribute to the employment of the student, interdisciplinary studies, etc. will be selected from the courses in the relevant program or other programs, taking into account the circumstances.

- Administrator, teacher and teacher assistant in private kindergartens and kindergartens
- Administrator, teacher and teacher assistant in special education and improvement centers
- Master teacher in kindergartens affiliated to the Ministry of National Education and kindergartens affiliated to primary schools
- Parent educator in private research and consulting companies
- Nursing mother in Mother Child Health Centers, Inpatient Institutions and Social Services Child Protection Institutions

AREAS AVAILABLE FOR VERTICAL TRANSITION
Graduates can also gain the right to enroll in undergraduate programs with a vertical transfer exam if quotas are opened in their fields by making use of the Regulation on Transition to Undergraduate Program for Vocational School Graduates and Open Education Associate Degree Graduates. They have the right to transfer vertically to one of the 4-year undergraduate programs of “Pre-School Teaching, Child Development and Education Teaching”.
